Yesterday, Dead & Company’s destination concert event Playing in the Sand, continued at Cancún, Mexico’s Moon Palace. Jan. 15 saw Connecticut-jamband Goose–Peter Anspach, Jeff Arevalo, Ben Atkind, Rick Mitarotonda and Trevor Weekz– take the stage and cut into originals and choice covers. During the night’s initial frame, special guest, Bobby Weir took the stage and helped the band close out their first set.

After a video was posted across social media of Weir and Mitarotonda “gymming” to Phish’s “Everything’s Right,” the internet buzzed with excitement leading up to the collaborative performance, which began with a trio of originals delivered by just the billed quintet: “Hungersite,” “A Western Sun” and “California Magic.”
