Goose Celebrates “Goose Day” On First Night Of New Year’s Run In Cincinnati

Goose kicked off a two-night New Year’s run at The Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, OH Friday night. Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval honored the band and the occasion by officially designating December 30th, 2022 as Goose Day—as if the band needed more reason to celebrate the completion of its biggest year yet. The New Year’s run caps off a career-defining year for Goose, which included the release of the critically acclaimed Dripfield, inaugural sold-out shows at Radio City Music Hall and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and festival appearances at Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival, and Sweetwater 420 Festival. The band also teamed up with Trey Anastasio Band for a historic fall tour and celebrated Goosemas at Broomfield, CO’s 1st Bank Center before landing in Cincinnati.

Over the weekend on Dec. 30 and 31, Goose descended upon Cincinnati’s Andrew J Brady Music Center for two evenings of silky New Year’s Eve celebrations. The first evening saw many beloved songs and was declared “Goose Day” by the City’s mayor, Aftab Pureval, while the final day of 2022 saw two live debuts.Goose opened their first set of the run with “Elizabeth” into a cover of The National’s “Bloodbuzz Ohio.”

The rising indie jam squad from Connecticut, Goose, have yet again made a name for themselves as they embarked on their second ever New Years run in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 30, 2022 at the Andrew J Brady Center. This effort evolved into the Cincinnati Mayor declaring December 30th "Goose Day." While the band had never played within the Queen City limits before, they are no strangers to the area having performed twelve times in neighboring Covington, KY. They subsequently consider this region a second home.
